For starters, the ‘78 Model humbucker features an extremely special coil wind. Using 42-gauge plain enamel wire, this wind achieves a very strict output tolerance. WebYes, the '78 is going to be more sggressive than the CC. Yes the CC is hotter than the '78, but the CC has evenly wound coils and has a smooth top end. The '78 has mis-matched coils, so it is going to be more chewy and have more 'bite' to it. The '78 is good for early VH-roth yrs. it goes well with a strat type guitar with a vintage style tremolo.
