You can meld those 2 with 100% chance of success. but upon doing a special quest, you get a specific skill that can meld 3 more materia on a gear with 2 materias melded. that's called overmelding. WebI'll share my melds in a bit, but it definitely helps. You get 700 GP with HQ stuffed chysahl, and I hit over 800 perc. Doing folklore nodes with that GP let's you use Blessed Harvest 2 (or miner equivalent), the gathering +15% and the HQ +10%. So you get 15 items 100% gather rage and around 25% HQ chance. It's really worth the extra Gil IMO. 1
WebA super quick look at ariyala tells me you probably can't meet the gathering/perception thresholds with white scrip gear even with maxed melds accessories, but the GP one you should be able to with maxed GP melds on accessories and NQ food.
