Thurstonian model
Webb26 juni 2012 · The Thurstonian IRT model is a multidimensional item response model with some special features that can be straightforwardly estimated using the general modeling software Mplus (L. K. Muthén & Muthén 1998 –2010), which also conveniently estimates trait scores for individuals. WebbAll of these methods have well developed Thurstonian scaling models as discussed recently in Ennis (2016) [4] which also includes a Thurstonian model for first-last or most-least choice and ranks with rank-induced dependencies.

WebbThen, the models are described using both the factor-analytic and the item response theory parameterizations. Procedures for (a) calibrating the items, (b) scoring individuals, (c) assessing model appropriateness, and (d) assessing measurement precision are finally discussed. The simulation results suggest that the WebbThe recent development of probabilistic Thurstonian choice models for analyzing preference data has been motivated by the need to describe both inter- and intra-individual difference, the multidimensional nature of choice objects, and the effects of similarity and comparability among choice objects. A common feature of these models is that they ...

WebbAbstract. Thurstonian models have proven useful in a wide range of applications because they can describe the multidimensional nature of choice objects and the effects of similarity and comparability in choice situations. Special cases of Thurstonian ranking models are formulated that impose different constraints on the covariance matrix of the ...
